👨🏻‍⚕️ Los espermatozoides se producen en el sistema reproductor masculino a través de la espermatogénesis. Este proceso se lleva a cabo en los túbulos seminíferos al interior de los testículos. Los espermatozoides maduros son expulsados en el eyaculado y son capaces de fecundar al óvulo, aportando 23 de los 46 cromosomas necesarios para lograr tener un bebé en casa.

El sistema reproductor masculino está formado por el pene, el escroto, los testículos, el epidídimo, el conducto deferente, la próstata y las vesículas seminales.

Los espermatozoides son los gametos masculinos o células sexuales del hombre. Por ello, son haploides (contienen la mitad de la información genética) y durante la espermatogénesis se debe pasar de células somáticas con 46 cromosomas (diploides) a células sexuales con 23 cromosomas (haploides) gracias a la meiosis.

La reducción del número de cromosomas en los gametos se debe a una función biológica para que una vez que ocurra la fusión de los gametos, es decir, la fecundación, el cigoto resultante tenga el número correcto de cromosomas: 46.

La espermatogénesis es un proceso que consta de varias fases o etapa básicas, mismas que podemos dividir en:
– Fase Proliferativa
– Fase Meiótica
– Espermiogénesis
